The My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter defeats much of the utility function that makes me say what I said in the above paragraph. To use this attachment, you have to partially disassemble the brewing mechanism (takes a few seconds) and then you have to bother with grinds, mess, cleanup, and reassembly. Yes, K-Cups cost more than buying bulk beans and grinding yourself. But saving money is not a feature of the Keurig system whose primary purpose of ownership is a dependable tasty cup of well-brewed coffee delivered quick and easy. In short, given the cost of the Keurig system, and the alternatives in the marketplace, the My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter is a silly way to “save money.”

Lastly, if throwing away plastic K-Cups truly bothers you, or causes “guilt,” then I suggest staying away from convenience coffee makers in general, or use the various systems out there that allow you to make coffee “pads” that you can use in most drip brewers.
